One pipe Steam system

I have a customer with a "one pipe steam system" with a supply and return from each radiator with no trap of any kind. This part of the system works great. The new part of the house has a "Two pipe system" with supply and return piping with a 17-C Hoffman traps on three baseboard units. Pipe size is 11/2" to the trap then reduces to 3/4". My problem is the one pipe system this is tied to is putting system pressure on the return line and the trap thus not letting the system work. So I looked at taking the trap off, capping the return venting the unit and making it a one pipe system, but my piping does not have fall back to the boiler for the condensate to return. HELP ME, Rob.

Separate the dry returns
from the two parts of the house and drip them separately into the wet return. Vent the return from the new part. If the old part has two pipe connections AND an air vent at each radiator, do NOT vent the dry return from this portion.
