Hartford Loop question..

When installing a hartford loop and the return comes in do you need to drop the return down to the lowest point of the retrun of the boiler before turning back up to the hartford loop? I know the hartford loop needs to be 2" below the lowest water level but what about the return coming from the system?

hartford loop
Yes, you must dip or drop the return piping before rising to the Hartford loop. You are creating a trap seal in the return to prevent steam from entering the return line.If you don't have that water seal.....BANG BANG BANG
