I am glad you kept the rusty bucket under the LWCO. :) Your sense of tradition is never compromized.
I forget if you posted what the "before" piping looked like, but it seems that the Owners will have their own "before and after" performance comparison.

Ahhhhh
Well, we started the season out with a repipe and that's always nice because you don't have to lug a boiler in and out!
But this was our first steam install this winter. We had to vent both steam mains and the dry return, replace the only two traps in the basement, and fire her up.

The plug was installed just in case the main we abandoned was really still alive! We didn't want to have to rip this baby back apart just in case that 1 1/2" pipe on top the boiler was still necessary.
This is that webster we talked about Steamhead. I'll post some pictures tonight of the 5' slung loops that come off the main. We ended up removing the caps and flushing them like you recommended. Boy where they dirty.....
