Condesate heating wiring
Hi guys and gals, I hope you can help. I've installed the condensate hot water loop according to the diagram. I actually did it 3 years ago and its been heating beautifully. The problem is, I can only use it when I make steam, because I'm not sure on how to wire in the RA832 relay and the aquastat. When I installed it 3 years ago, I just wired in the Taco 007 circ with the room T stat to move the water. But now I want to be able to run it without making steam. If someone could walk me through the wiring like a child it would be appreciated. By the way, the boiler is WelMclain PEG 40-Spdn, with Hydrolevel low water cut off. Anticipated thanks.0 -
Phil, I have a diagram for you
I'll put it in this post when I get to work today. You'll need a relay with another set of contacts, though, like a Honeywell R 845 A, or similar.

Wiring for condesate heat loop
Hi Noel, sorry I didn't get back to you sooner. Thanks a million for that wiring diagram, it worked out perfectly. I can now control the boiler for the condesate loop without making steam. Again, many, many thanks.

limit question
Noel, what is the limit set for? 180F or so? On this drawing it seems the high limit protects the water system from causing steam. Is there a low limit function where the condensate is kept hot enough to provide heat when the hot water zone calls?0 -
No low limit
The limit is NOT the temperature controller for the hot water zone, the bypass adjustment keeps the water at the temperature that you want.
The limit keeps the water in the boiler from boiling, which would heat the STEAM zone when it wasn't needed. You set it as high as possible, without it making steam. That way, the water zone temperature is similar whether the steam zone is calling or not.
