The ones that are connected only across the bottom can only be used with steam systems.
Those connected across both top and bottom can be used with either steam or hot water.
Those connected across both top and bottom can be used with either steam or hot water.

cast iron radiators
i bought an old house with steam heat and i noticed two types of radiators. one type, the tubes are connected across the bottom. the other type, they are connected across the top and bottom. does anyone know what the difference is between them. thanks for any help.bp.0 -
