Thanks. I guess I would go new. I wouldn't even know where to find salvaged. The Burnham looks good but they don't give out prices. They told me to contact a distributor. John thanks i'll give them a call and see.

WHERE TO BUY NEW STEAM RADIATORS?

Does anyone know where to buy new steam radiators ( One Pipe) in Queens or Nassau County NY area. Steam radiators.com has nice small ones that hang on the wall but are about $700- $800. Am looking for the nice ornamental kind for a good price not $115 a section as quoted by one online company or something that is slim and maybe be recessed or hang on the wall and not the plain simple box looking kind.

If cost is a concern, look for salvage.

New ones are available through Burnham. They can be used for hot water or steam. Not inexpensive.

Many other styles are available in Europe, but cost is even higher.

    New or Used?

The best kind are no longer made, but Burnham has resurrected a line of very classic-looking standing radiators. In fact the line is called "Classic". Imagine that..

Costs are up there compared to salvage but you get what you pay for. They know iron.

I say "resurrected" but I am not sure if these are from old patterns or completely new with a classic look about them.

    Governale

see also http://www.governaleindustries.com, this line is owned by Burnham and appears indistiguishable from the Burnham products (but sold by supply houses that do not carry the Burnham lines). If you email them, they will provide local sources.
