Could you please tell me of the regulations regarding the colour of outside propane tanks with a home heating capacity,can I change the colour by painting?

Check with your gas supplier
but you do not want to paint them a dark color if they sit in the sun at all, but your supplier owns the tank and you lease in you fuel price so they have the final word.0 -

International Fire Code and NFPA 58
governs Liquid Petroleum storage. A dark tank can, during prolonged hot weather and exposure to intense sun, release vapor pressure out the relief valve. I have witnessed this and it can be a source of nervous jitters for sure. Some people like to paint them black or green but I think they come new in white or biege for a good reason. Underground tanks are a better solution.0
