Mapp or Oxy???
What's you preference? For general plumbing 3/4" and 1" copper. What do you like to use?0 -
\"b \" tank
all you need is a b tank [acetylene ] & a turbo torch rig w/ two tips. good for anything from wiping a joint to brazing up to three inch and anything in between0 -
Oops that's what i meant
I meant Acetylene or Mapp.
Does it heat quicker without getting it too hot.
play with your heat right.0 -
mapp
I have a "b" tank for all of my bigger stuff but i do use my turbo torch an awful lot. the flame is quick and hot enough for most things and I am spoiled by the trigger spark lighter!0 -
Should have both
The B tank usually has a torch with interchangable heads for different size jobs.
Also with actylene you can blend an O2 tank for silver solder jobs with a very hot tip and flame.
And ocassional cutting torch applications.
Mapp is handy for an easy carry and quick trip into a crawl space for a repair, etc.
hot rod

oxy / mapp torch beacoup lighter...
i have little pinner torches that use lighter fluid gas ...
you might be able to braze 1/4" with it...never tried just a guess . it works on 1/2" copper sweat fitting ok. it looks like a pen sorta.
if you check in Eugene Silbersteins section .... and search under Brazing...i think that perhaps you wonuld like the replies..0
