    hope you measured very carefully

    Homeowner here. It might be wise to heed Mr. Ebels advice. I know a new gas line is a pain in your budget and maybe finished basement ceiling. Removing 35Kbtu of your direct hw heater puts you around 165K. Gas pressure may be subject to fluctuations. Also have you really measured the length from the meters to where the boiler will be, and all the elbows, etc, each of which has a certain length calculated for it. If you have 30 feet of straight run and 10 elbows, that's far from 30 ft.

    I have had consults with pros at my house and the good ones always recommend 1" and the Munchkin rep also did so on the phone re: their 80mbh unit. I gather that these boilers are less forgiving than others as far as pressure drops.
