Master trap
There were two bidders for this job (neither bidder was All Steamed Up). The high bidder got the job. This is a one pipe steam system. It was a gravity return. Now it has a Master Trap on the pumped return.

... well, I guess this confirms that every customer does not know how to recognize a true master of the craft when one of them walks in the door. Perhaps it's better that this customer is not a client of yours? I hope you at least got paid for your visit!0 -

Good enough for them. Serves them right. Leave the steam pressure up so the copper will leak all the sooner.

And the return lines
will hammer all the sooner, too. I presume that the picture below shows what was used to "clean" the boiler.

The low bid
Was the Co-op's oil supplier. The winning bidder advertises very heavily that they are steam experts. We see their hack jobs all over Baltimore.

Market Savvy and sales skills!
Are they the skills needed to overcome lack of expertise and proper material applications?
Would be a great test site for determining the expansion co-efficient for a foot of copper at 150 degree temperature rise.
Thanks for the just done pictures, hopefully you can get in some post use pictures after about a year of use.
