Just came to us last year . The units then selfs that I have installed have not been a problem. All the owners are happy with them. Gas to gas install seen their budget drop between $50-$100 per month, Even with the large increase last year. The install is not bad . Thought it would be easyer then it is . I find my self returning redoing the connections on the manifold . Even the relif valves had to be redone. Could be a Buderus thing, I find the say thing with their pump and mix stations... Their recomended location in a vented stand pipe off the indirect return , I found collects dirt throwing off the l.w.c.o.. I now loop the return above the unit so the l.w.c.o. in in a flushing stream. The older ones I piped in a boiler drain valve to manual flush the probe. All and all I am amazed and would recommend it. This comming from a oil guy.

    Looking for any input on the new unit, installation , realiability , opinions. Always been a bit leary going to too high efficiency , usually ends up less reliable !

    We have sold well over 100 GB142's. Except for a few minor problems that were easily corrected by Dave & Joe and the rest of Buderus "world class" Technical/Customer Service Department.

    You can install this boiler with confidence...

    servicing unit

    the relief valve discharges at 44 lbs + , , seems high - is this a special valve - standard is 30lbs - ? and I've heard the fan motor is a bit steep$$$ - I,m in service and like being able to make my own repairs <(with some help on the new technology !) what does the recommended parts kit go for ! thanks for responding !

    Pipe manifold

    We have had issues with the quality of the pipe manifold we send with each GB142. These manifolds are made here in the U.S. for us and have been working with this company to improve their quality. The relief valve is made by Watts, perhaps just a bad valve?
