oil heat backfire
I have oil heat, 90000BTU/hr Lennox I just turned it on. It has been running for about 8 hours. Every time the beckett burner shuts off, it sounds like it backfires a little bit. Sometimes it is a couple minutes later. Is this normal. I don't remember it doing that last year. When I had the unit cleaned the teck placed some screws to hold the flue draft door closed. Why? Thank you for your time.0 -

Banging
Paul, The "tech" put the screws on the openings because any air-leakage affects-it. If it`s "banging" you have to suspect a draft problem, they are difficult to find but not impossible.0 -

Draft
You are saying it bangs after it shuts off, not when it turns on? Mine bangs when it turns on because the violence of the initial combustion pops the draft control open and creates a draft problem.0
