I have been in NH for 29 years and have only been working for Winair for 6 months, still active and helping my son run The Energy Source that I started in 81. www.energysource-radiant.com

Has anyone instaled one of these Baxi gas fired boilers. Just started an install, and was wondering what everyone thought about these things

    I've installed

quite a few Baxi's and really like them. Utilize the QAA 73 controller, and open up the intelligence of the boiler.

    Baxi

Using a water softner is wise to prevent scale build up in the heat exchanger. Other wise / and it is best to do maintenance every couple of years, pumping a lime solution, or even vinegar to rid the scale build up, hence the heat exchanger will operate more efficency,
Regarding this there maybe something about warrenty issues.

    Baxi

We have installed several and I now work for a supply house in NH that is the NH distibutor. The non condensing model is the workhorse because it will replace any system up to 105k btu and has most of the major components included (system circulator, expansion tank, air vent, low water cutoff, vent system, etc.) for the price it is a great unit. The HT model is the condensing unit that is suited for low temp applications such as radiant. Both models have outdoor reset built in by adding the outdoor sensor, and the HT also has a sensor with the DHW package that does DHW on priority with a indirect fired water heater. Both models have a heat and instanstaneuos DHW unit with a plate exchanger built in for up to 3.5 gpm. . The standdard vent system that comes with either unit has 1 elbow one 3' pipe with termination fitting included.
Attached is a HT model with 5 zones of baseboard with 2 large zones of radiant and DHW internal to the boiler. This is a system done by one of my wholesale customers,Brunellele & Whitman in NH. The HT does 124K and is also being marketed under Teledyne Larrs as the Mascott boiler (Baxi in disguise).
  • i like it

just commissioned my first Luna HT (condensing) today, so far so good. the DHW change over valve seemed to stick at first (I wasn't getting any heating flow)but soon loosened up, for the most part start-up was a breeze though. i really like the QAA 73 control: very easy to program & operate. very quiet too.

Fit approx 400 or so here in the UK. Fantastic boiler extremely reliable, easy to service and parts are accessible and easy to change. But like all wall hung combi boilers it is very important that the system is cleaned to prevent debris entering the boiler and damaging components.

    Laconia

Laconia Winair on Lexington drive, I am doing outside sales and engineering, troubleshooting, etc. . I try not to go into other stores areas and we have a good relationship with the guys from N. Conway. Each store is somewhat independent although all are part owned by the Winwholsale group. Where are you out of?
