chemical feeders

Feeders are a nice product. Visible tank and peristoltic pump good for up to 18 psig in their standard model. If a leak occurs you can tell by the dropping volume when set up as an automatic feed. Otherwise you can index it on for dosing.

If it is one-time feeding you are doing, the Silver King Force Pump is a neat tool. Glad I got mine.

I'm working on a plan and spec. hot water, primary, secondary job. Replacement of everything, except the existing piping going to each zone. My question is about chemical feeders, how they work? Without a pump? I'm to install a 3" capped stub, valved on both sides. With a by-pass. The cut of the feeder shows 2 connections, 1 high and the other low near the bottom of the tank. I don't understand how this can possible work? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

    Mike,

The feeder is like a pregnant bypass. By closing a valve or two and opening the feeder in and out valves, you could divert the flow through the feeder, thereby introducing chemicals. The chemicals are dumped into the feeder vessel when it's NOT valved "on."

That's what I was thinking. But with only 1 connection, I can't see it working. Quess i better talk to the engineer. Thanks
