Splitting a loop

I currently have a split loop, 1.5" pipe going into a tee, 1.25" pipes come out of the tee and follow the outside perimeter of the home and return to the boiler. I can't find any information in my books that cover splitting a loop. I have to move the pipes at the return location. Are there any rules I need to be aware of? Does it matter how the two 1.25" pipes are piped back together?
