looking for....
Do any of you steamheads know of a manufacturer that makes a condensater receiver/feed tank smaller than 20 gallons?Have several small two pipe systems that need them and 20 is a little overkill. Using the Skidmore at the moment, but......

I got some small ones here, Monarch used to make them, not too sure of the size gallon-wise, I`ll have to check stock.0 -
Small Feed Tanks
It would be easy to convert a 10 Gallon Skidmore unit to a Boiler Feed System. Reverse the action of the float switch and hook it up to a solenoid valve to fill the feed tank and just hook the pump to the boiler level control.0 -
Nice Call Brant.............
that`s exactly what I do, and I have no problems!0 -
ITT Hoffmann Watchman
Makes a 6 and 9 gallon (used to be 8??).
Not sure about sizes available right now but I have used Shipco with success on a number of jobs. Skidmore is my default but really never had an issue with other brands.
The control action can be set up as noted for boiler feed.0 -
condensate receivers
These systems are in old farmhouses with old mechanical condensator traps....none of them work and barely enough A dimension, let alone B. One system is small enough that we are going to convert to a one pipe but the others need some pumping.

receivers
Thanks. That has been considered and have done it before. Was just wondering if something smaller was available. Despite being in No. New England, few suppliers here stock or are aware of such products. Seems like I have to order in everything and getting repair parts can take days.

\"Condensator\" traps?
sounds like these are Vapor systems- Barnes & Jones made the "Condensator" which is just their name for a Return Trap. I bet these would run on gravity return at a few ounces pressure.
I've never been a big fan of return pumps, they fail too often for my tastes.
An alternative would be to fix the return traps. If you can't get "Condensator" parts from Barnes & Jones, try Tunstall- they can rebuild almost anything, and I think they also sell new "pressure powered pumps" which is essentially what a Return Trap is.

coindensate pump
Yes, one of them is for Dover. We need a pump to fix that job. There was one there but the oil company that installed the boiler took out the pump and ran condensate into a new hartford loop. No flow of steam to the front of the house.
