No heat in one zone
When you jump the t/stat check for 24 volts between terminals 1 & 2 (terminal 1 is the one farthest away from the valve body)
If you have 24v wait a minute then try to move the manual lever. if it moves easily the valve is open. If it moves hard the valve is closed and you need to investigate your wiring.
If the the manual lever moves easy, check the power to the circulator. If the circulator is running, chances are you have an airbound zone that needs to be purged.
With that manual lever in the open position, you should be getting heat through the zone if everything is wired correctly. You can leave the zone manually open untill a professional gets there and the zone will heat any time another zone calls for heat (and you'll get a little bit of gravity heat if your boiler operates on as low limit)
But my best suggestion, find a pro to help you out

No heat in one zone
My hot water boiler operates the second floor zone just fine. When I turn the t-stat up on the first floor nothing happens. I replaced the head on the taco 571-2 zone valve that controls the first floor but still nothing. I also put a jumper on the t-stat and still nothing. Do you have any suggestions as to what could be wrong?0
