Good advice. A new one might be cost effective, if the old one is very badly scaled.

What could be best used for cleaning out the low water cut off chamber of all the old hardened sludge?

I already bought a new one but the price of it prompted me to invistigate the problem with the old one and try to slavage it and keep it as a backup . I believe it can be saved only I thought maybe there was a chemical that would desolve the hardened sludge. Something like Squick only it doesn't need to be heated.
