Mitch Albom writes very good books. He's got a new one coming out very soon I hear. My favorite book of his is "Tuesdays With Morrie". I't a book you want to share. Someone lent it to me with intsructions to pass it on when I was done. I did with pleasure. WW

    Nobody's Fool, by Richard Russo

I know this doesnt have to do with heating, but in the back half of the book the main character does sit on a radiator to warm his bum. Just finished this book and am sorry it's over. I recommend it to most men and some ladies who don't mind rough language. It's about a small town in Upstate NY where the main character, Sully, has lived his whole life. Sully is a 60 year old curmugeon of the highest order, with a bum knee, that he works on anyhow. He has a highly developed BS radar control and has no compunctions whatsoever about expressing himself whenever he can about what he thinks about said ****. As the book begins Sully feels a "Stupid Streak" coming on. He's lived long enough to know one when he sees one coming. A "Stupid Streak" is a period of time when he feels like doing something he knows will have negative outcomes and repurcussions, but does them anyways just because it gives him satifaction to do so anyways. I havent loved a character so much since Randal McMurphy in "One Flew Over the Cukoos Nest." The bar room scenes are hilarious. I felt like I was there listening in on the conversations and laughing my a$$ off the whole time. Outrageous and heartwarming. I recommend it highly. WW

    Ain't nuthin better en.....

Having the time to read a good book! Try as I may, sometimes I get too lost in the work aspect of my life and get "reading lazy".

I sometimes feel like Rodney Dangerfield did in the movie "Back To School". As he is asked by the english teacher if he's read...and he goes on to explain, that "I saw the movie"...ad nausium...

Reading IS fundemental. It gives your mind a chance to escape and use some of its potential to IMAGINE the scenes, and to THINK outside of the box once in a while.Especially now, during "silly season", when everything has to be done yesterday.

Thanks for the heads up Wayne. I'll check it out soon. Chris

    I keep several piles

of books next to the bed. Some technical, some nonfiction and some fiction. I've always been a reader. I'm always on the look out for good books. If any one has any suggestions I'm done with my last book looking for my next. Chris, if you read Nobodys Fool, I'm predicting you'll like it. Can you think of any curmugeons on The Wall with an ascerbic wit? From upstate NY. Nah, me neither. :) WW

Have a copy of "fool" that I picked up several years ago. Also bought the movie which I saw before I bought the book. Both are good.

The "snowblower " part is the best.
