Super Job!

Love that dropped header.

HAte the Cycle-Guard LWCO's also.

Nice neat boiler installs are almost like porn to me. I guess I need to get out of the basement more often.

    Peerless steam,er replacement

This was a 1 dayer ,i was given a hand getting the new one down and i pulled the old one outside it was a little of a long day but when we left they had heat and hot water i just supplied the labor and a few parts here and there .i will go back and do a skim in a few days but all in all she's set got her with a .75 80b .01 overfire .04 draft 11 co and a net 350 stack so she's running about a 84 % .Besides heat she is equipted with a 5 gpm tankless coil .This unit only came with a single 2 supply so i increased it to a 3 and did a little drop action to dry her up supply main was baking .I truely did not and still don't like the lwco peerless includs with there steamers with that stupid cycle guard the unit never cycles on pressure just the on lwco .Peace and good luck clammy Ps sorry for no before would have liked to but my camera batteries where dead a great copper header layed to rest great scrap $

    Another otstanding install

Keep them comming sure do enjoy your work
  • All by yourself ?

You must still be young Clammy . What did you pull out of there ? I love the drop header , thing of beauty . We used that CycleGuard once , and I agree with you . I hate that it has to turn the boiler off every few minutes . I remember the literature saying there's a way to turn off the feature , but damned if we could figure it out .

Hey , is that your singnature drink , a Hiney ? Ok , so far we know Dave's fave . Is that yours ?

    not to young

Thanks Ron ,The old boiler was a peerless jot4 in bad shape tankless coil was shot and had been leaking in the boiler flooding the system so the HO just kept drain it no good it also had a beckett high speed burner which i don,t think the boiler was originally designed for since the it's a single pass and not very tight also worst of all was the huge copper header wish i could have got a pic of that hall of lame stuff .I had to fight for a 3 inch header and the drop but after it was steaming my buddy who i did the job for said he was sorry and sang did you know your my hero. That jot 4 was quite heavy compared to the little wbv3 .I,m getting older but doing boiler is one of the jobs which i have always enjoyed plus in most cases it's only a day and on to the next i'm not one to go to the same place for ever that make sme nuts ,Thanks again for your always kind words peace and good luck clammy Ps the HO grabed us the beers i'm a anchor steam, serra nevada pale ale drinker i like them strong unlike myself

  • And I'll bet

they save a lot of oil. How can they not save, with a first-class install like that?

Regarding the JOT- many of these came with the Beckett AF burner, which did not develop enough static pressure to fire that boiler without plugging it. Upgrading to the AFG, Riello or other high-static burners made them run a lot better.
