Dianorm Panel Rads

Ideally, the rough-in needs 2 holes 2" on center underneath the right side of the new radiator. Supply is on the left, return on the right. The radiator accepts 1/2" copper or pex with eurocone adapter nuts. I would not install these with exposed piping from the existing radiator stubouts. I'd drill new holes with a carbide tile saw and replumb, or it won't be as attreactive an install.

I don't use the diverter valves, but always the TRV head. The radiator is shipped with brackets only, no TRV head or eurocone nuts. Reversing the S&R can cause problems...follow the instructions!!

    Installation

I have an opportunity to install our first panel radiator. I sized the new panel rad based on the EDR of the old radiator, this was especially timely in that I had just received Dans book "EDR- Every Darn Radiator" about a month ago.

I have a 24"High x 36" Long x Model 33 going in. The homeowners have already tiled the floor and I have to work around an old radiator valve. My questions pertain to the appropriate accesories I need. The current hydronic system of radiators are piped as a Reverse-Return (EDIT). I think the non-electric TRV head option only makes sense, but they also offer a Diverter valve, a 2-pipe double isolating valve, as well as a pressure actuated bypass valve. Is this belts and suspenders AND belts and suspenders?

It really seems redundant if the panel has a integral balancing valve used with the non-electric actuator head. I could see using the diverter valve to bypass flow back to the piping instead of thru the rad, but that would be about it.

I have printed and read the design manual from DiaNorm, but it is unclear to me. Also, is the spring-loaded wall mount kit standard with every unit? My wholesaler doesn't know and I have yet to hear back from DiaNorm.

    TIA

    Regards,

    PR

Edit: I should also add that this is an old non-condensing atmospheric boiler with no outdoor-reset.
