I would like to let everyone know that my dad (darin cook) left today to go to iraq(sept. 11) he not only has his friends to watch over him but he also has god and a gardian angel (my grandfather) and i would only ask this.....that everyone would keep him in there thoughts because i am having a hard time dealing with this as is my family, and i know that my father will be coming home sometime in january

Your Dad must have faith in you and his family to carry on while he is gone, or he wouldn't have gone. Deployments are tough on families, it isn't ever easy to have home life disrupted this way. Oddly, it's the time the car rebels, the AC passes out and the boiler goes flat... for that, fortunately, many here can help.

It's hard on wives and children but at the same time it's the sort of stuff that is worth looking up to in a father.

Maddog's right. Come here ANYTIME you want to talk. Your Dad has ALOT of friends here and we are a big family.

Remember this, your Dad has friends here not just because we like him but because we RESPECT him. He is a honerable man who is doing his duty for his country. Even thought its tough for you to see him go, be proud of him. You can help him by doing well in school and helping your Mom out as much as possible. He can't do his work if he is worrying about you. Remember your with him every day.

The first few days are the hardest but time happens quickly and soon he will be home with you again.
