DHW indirect off steam boiler - best option?

Ok, now that you guys have convinced me to keep most of my steam system going, I have a question about DHW. I'm going to go with a Peerless WBV-03 (the brand my pro prefers) and I had planned to run an indirect tank with a circulator similar to Dan's suggestion in his book or this site: http://www.bellgossett.com/Press/waterzone.html
However, my contractor is reluctant to do this as he has had bad experiences with old systems doing nasty things to the heat exhchangers in indirect tanks. I guess it's a combination of aggressive water and crud from the old pipes.
I can think of 3 other ways of doing it:
1. Use a tankless coil and circulator with an electric heater for storage/buffer tank.
pros: cheaper and no boiler water in contact with heat exchanger
cons: keeping water in tank at uniform temperature
2. Tankless coil with circulator and indirect.
pros: no boiler water going through indirect
cons: extra heat exchange (boiler-circulator loop-DHW), added expense of tankless coil
3. Double wall heat exchanger with circulator with electric tank for storage.
cons: heat exchanger and circulator are still in contact with boiler water
pros: if heat exchanger gets trashed it is cheaper than replacing an indirect tank
Any thoughts? Should I just go for the indirect and hope for the best?
