    Viessmann Academy

    Weezbo
I just recently attended Viessmann academy in Vancouver. What a great experience. Education is definately top on their l;ong list of credentials! I am presently installing my 5th Vitodens and it just gets easier. THis time I used the Roth radiant panel and Myson panel raidators for supplemental heat. I oversized the panels so at design temps I am supplying 140 degrees. THe Roth panel with run around 100 degrees. I can't express what a great leaning experience the Academy was. The great thing was that yes we learned about the Vitodens BUT we also learned about European technology. Just a well rounded presentation. My heats off to Viessmann! HA HA HA! Jeffrey
  • Agreed.

How did your Raupanel glitch end up. Hopefully all is well and the squeck is gone with the wind. I just went through somewhat of the same experience with Roth panel. We used alittle more silicone and problem solved. Though we were able to fire up the system before the flooring went down. Lots of great systems out their but still have to be careful. Take care Jeffrey
  • Jeff, The \"glitch\" was not with RauPanel™,,,

It was with ClimatePanel AKA QuikTrak and yes, some of the Viega engineers did help me get it ironed out. 30,000 staples, 2-300 screws later, silicone spray in chanels we THINK all the noises are gone now on this job. Time will tell after the floating floor goes in.

On another job ALL the noises disappeared after the oak T&G flooring was stapled to the panels through the sub-floor with 2" dipped 1/2" crown staples by the flooring contractor.

Looking foreward to giving the Raupanel system a try sometime soon. I prefer ThermoFin U over everything I've tried so far (for an on top of the sub-floor system) but Raupanel looks really nice too.

You going to RadFest next week?

I am not going to be able tomake it this year. I just got back from Vancouver. Things are rock-and-rollin here so I need to be here. Then some how I am begining classes this Saturday to become open water dive certified. I became married this summer and our honeymoon will take us to the BVI for 10 days of sailing and 4 days on the main island in January. Plus I am training a new employee so I need to be around. I am just starting the slab work on a new construction ground source heat pump system. Glad to here things worked out with the glitch.
Take care and good luck Jeffrey

    Other classes?

Has anyone here been to other Viessmann classes than the basic intro course? I'd like to get to the one's dealing with Weishaupt burners, commercial controls, solar etc.

If you've been to one of these other classes I'd like to hear some feedback on them. Who was the intructor etc.

    Yes

I attended the Viessmann solar class this summer. What a great system. The idea of just one storage tank with two HX seems very intellgent. So many great ideas from these seminars. WIth the tax credits starting up again this 2006, I am looking forward to installing some DHW systems. There have been alot of discussions on the evacuated tube collectors. Price VS performance. I would sure like to install a sytem. On paper they perform very well with just alittle sun.

I just attended two classes. Understanding condensing boiler and Service and maintaince on the Vitodens. The condensing class did discuss the Vertomat unit. I actually left the day of the commercial service and maintaince which would have covered the gas valve you asked about. Great stuff and lots of good "round table" discussions. Viessmann gives you the confidence and knowledge to go out and install a great system.

    Yup...

The courses are great, and I very much enjoyed taking the sprinkling I did. The courses are extremely informative, with a lot of information that you simply cannot get from the books.
