Leaking Devices

I received a phone message yesterday from a Pluming and heating guy with a question about using boiler antifreeze and the failure of pressure gauges (fogging inside & leaking) and relief valves leaking through the seats. He explained that they are all WeilMclain cast-iron hot water boilers and he had changed out the devises with other brands and the same problems reoccurred. Has anybody here seen the same and what’s the possible fix?

    leaks

    A) Anti-Freeze is slick- it likes to leak out where water won't. It really doesn't matter whose boiler it is. Couple that with....

    B) Anti Freeze has a higher viscosity than water, and therefore increases the head through a system. Usually this can be combatted through the proper dilution. I never recommend more than 50%, and usually strive for 30%.
