I'm now proud owner of a Buderus 115-34, and the installer said it's 5" outlet would be fine with my 8" pre-fab 20 yr old chimney. It's not - getting condensation.(Joe warned me). Replacing it is expensive, and i've been told relining is forbidden (Eastern Long island). Any good ideas?
Would 9 months with no chimney cap thru the winter have made a big difference on the grey stuff piled in the boiler? (same guy put one on, it blew off immediately, and I've procrastinated, although now it's being fixed)
I've read that you can rig a condensation trap outside of the boiler - anyone know how (I'm sure it's illegal, but I'd like to know anyway).
