Baseboard mixed with cast iron radiators

as its cast iron baseboard.
If your talking about copper finned baseboard then balancing is a huge problem and you'll have heating problems. Mostly related to the mass of the cast iron and it ability to hold the heat giving you milder heating swings. Copper baseboard is more of a on/off, bang-bang type of heat. When the C.I. is still radiating heat and warming the room the copper will not and that room will cool off quicker. You'll have some rooms warm and some cold.

I'm installing a Munchkin 199 on an old 3 story cast iron radiatior job. Can i mix in a baseboard element in place of a missing cast iron radiator.0 -

And don't just size the cast iron baseboard to the room's loss at the "standard" 180° supply temp output rate!
The current standing iron is likely quite oversized. You've certainly conducted a room-by-room heat loss already so compare the "standard" 180° standing iron rad output (150 btu/hr per square foot EDR @ 180° supply with 20° delta-t) to the ACTUAL heat loss of each room. You'll likely find significant variance. I'd suggest sizing the cast iron baseboard similarly to the average amount of oversizing in the house.0
