Smith Cast Iron vs Utica

Thanks for the previous suggestions. I've narrowed my choices down to Smith Cast Iron or Utica. I'm looking for an efficient, solid unit that will last. I'm sort of favoring the Smith, but I'd like to hear from you guys, first. Thanks

h.b. was a friend of mine.
sorry to say with h.b. smith you still got the issue of rubber push nipples. years back smith was a favorite of mine but.....then came the rubber. utica looks good but i am unfamiliar with. what's wrong with burnham for gas or peerless for oil ? those are the top guns.0 -
the series8
boiler that Smith has is a great unit...I do use it a lot and have had 0 issues with it. The o ring issue that some mention was over 20 yrs ago and has been taken care of for that period of time also....Consumers Digest has had the series 8 as a best buy for several yrs. kpc

If a boiler with
seals hasn't leaked in 20 years I think the problem's been solved, right? JMO!
Same-ole, same-ole, let it go, the FD-12's failed because WE cut the ropes off instead of pushing them back in. I did it, we all did it, but oh no, let's not admit were not perfuct! Lot easier to blame someone else, FACT!0
