Glenn, sorry about wasting your time. I went over to the job today to check the boilers. Tucked up under the top part of the front of the boiler there is another tag with the H symbol. My inspecter did not see this second tag. I'm surprised because he is always on the mark. Thanks for the response. It is good to know you visit the wall.

    burnham ASME certification

    I installed two burnham cast iron boilers last summer. I can't remember the model numbers but I will get them. I know the boilers are ASME approved however according to the boiler inspecter the boilers MUST have the "cloverleaf" symbol on the tag on the boilers. This is according to ASME section four hge paragraph five. The installation manual has the symbol but not the tag. My supplier is contacting their supplier but I figured I'd would do my own checking. Any advise on this situation? Thank You

    Without knowing the boiler model numbers, I would assume that these are commercial boilers such as the V9 or V11 series. The same applies for knocked down versions of the Series 8 and 5B Gas boilers. The majority of these boilers are field assembled and the Rating and Serial # label is in the Yellow Manilla Envelope along with the Installation Manual. All of our boilers do indeed carry the "H" stamp. The stamp is also in the casting on the front section.Here is a picture of the boiler label for a V9A with the Serial # obscured.

    Thanks for the reply.Without the model numbers this is a bit challenging. Monday morning when I return to my office I'll pull the model numbers from the file. For the life of me I can't remember. I do remember a 9"chimney connector and a gross btu of about 396 thou. Also we did'nt have to feild assemble the boilers. thanks
  • No problem Randy

    I have days like that myself.....like yesterday when I was working on a small carpentry project and couldn't find my pencil. My son had to remind me that I had it stuck on my ear. ;>}

    Yup

    That's like looking all over for the glasses that are up on your head. "Who took them? I know that I came in with them..."
    Been there.
