Thanks to the trade

The service mechanics and pipefitters of Local 449 out of Pittsburgh, Pa. performed the same volunteer services for about 200 needy people this Saturday. One elderly lady told me God had sent her an angel in form of a heating guy when one of our guys showed up. It's refreshing to see the trade giving something back to the community.

heard on the radio this morning

that yesterday about 400 pipefitters from the St. Paul local fanned out across the area and did heating system safety checks for elderly and low income residents. Checked for safe operation, fire, and CO issues. They even gave out free CO detectors to anyone that did not have a working one. The guy said they typically find about 6% of furnaces/boilers checked to be not safe. This has been an annual volunteer endeavor for some time and I think that it's great.

    it's good karma

what goes around, comes around. I've always believed in it.

Think about how many potential tragedies were prevented in one day.
