Thanks steamhead i had looked but couldn,t find them there i don't know if they are trane convectors or another manafactors stuff .They where in assorted lengths ranging from 36 to 40 inches at 5 1/2 wide x about 41/2 high .At the beat i could measure these cabinets have so much paint and caulk on them it's a job to remove them .I am just sizing and layout of the system and helping do the install so this is not totally my job as usually helping a buddy out .I know that all the steam traps are original but my buddy didn't advise them of doing work on them for there is alot of other work that needs alot of tlc like the 100 year old water lines spourting leaks everywhere and the no water preassure deal .All original mudded baths ,young couple and they don't have a clue a little luck they didn't go for the plumber who quoted them 3500 for install a new boiler repipe the returns and removal of the oil tank and old boiler.I don't think the guy had a clue or maybe he works for nothing .Thanks and i guess i'll order edr thanks again and peace clammy ps got a copper steam repipe in a week wait till you see the before it must be a april fools days joke peace

    trane convector ratings

Looked at a trane 2 pipe steam system with 8 steel enclosed convectors on the first floor and 4 cast iron enclosed convectors on the second floor with also 1 steel convector on the second fllor also .All of the 1 st floor traps are on located in the basement above the dry return and on the second floor there under the convectors .The original boiler is a us raditor corp 4 section model # 8 with a label with no rating except the capital .The trane return trap is still there with 2 check valves i believe this was a coal to oil conversion the system has 2 main air vents on the dry return which drops in the wet return the end of the supply main is also dripped with the dry return tying in below the water line .The system has 2 2 inch mains 1 about 36 ft long the other has a overhead supply running to the oppisite side of the house dropping down from the beam space and running about the same length plus 20 ft .Can,t6 find any output rating for these rads i'm yet to pick up dans edr book but it's definatly in the future .All ther traps are 1/2 angle and all supplies are 1 with no supply valves or restrictors as far as i can see .This system needs all new returns for they are ratted and leaking .Thanks for any rating that you can find thanks clammy

  • Trane Vapor systems like this one

are very common in Baltimore. They do need more venting on the steam mains now that they're running on oil or gas. When you order Dan's "E.D.R.", also get the Gill/Pajek venting charts if you haven't already.

Depending on how old those Trane convectors are, you might find their ratings here:
