Olympic pool heating requirements

... of the heat loss (or gain) will be from the surface area of the pool, unless it's above ground. (Unlikely in this case.) The other big factor will be the delta-T between the water and air temps. Is this an indoor or outdoor pool?

Olypic size pool heating
Anybody have any leads where I can "quickly" estimate/determine the gallon capacity of an "Olympic" size pool w/ diving area, without actually donning a swimsuit and taking measurements? LOL, please be kind!0 -

Maybe a little wacky, but if it is a recently built pool you might check with the building permits office for the volume of the pool. 2nd thought a commerical pool should have a flow meter at the pump a water change of about once in 6hrs is typical (check local codes) then multply flow X,s time ??. Me I would measure the surface x the aveage depth.
If your going to heat the pool I would think you would be bound by your gallons per min. of flow as the small backyard pools I have done are rated in that manner. Best wishes J.Lockard0 -
thanks guys...
I was sure my crew was in 'kahoots' with everybody and was dying to see me don the swimsuit to get a good laugh0 -
