On indirect with Taco 5000, anti-scald device required?

Seems like thermal mixing valve is not quite an anti-scald. Don't showerheads have built-in anti-scalds? The Taco 5000 will shut down HW if there's a pressure drop in the cold line, but is that enough protection? Thought I saw a post awhile back from a wallie that used both.
Thanks,
David
