I don't see a problem. The window is the coldest place in the room. I would try to use a rad with a width similar to that of the window.

Heat!
Quick question for you guys!
I have a room that is 17' x 17' and requires 7,318 BTU's. It has 2 and 1/2 exposed walls with 10' cielings. Would you be comfortable placing just one panel radiator in the front of this room below the large window?

Yes
Provided the window is located somewhat centrally in the room and the rad will not be "blocked" by furniture. That would prevent the radiant portion of the heat from traveling throughout the room. If it were me, I'd size the rad +10-15% for JIC factor.0 -
I would say......
Yes, With the understanding that the customer doesnt block the rad with any furniture. (duh!) WW

Why do you ask?
Is it not the norm for us to do a heat load calc., determine the "design day" water temps and install radiantion/emitters that wil meet or exceed that load?
Knowing you as we do, the real question becomes, "Why would you have any doubts that the calcs. may be "flawed"? Is it the radiant aspect of output that has you being more careful than usual?0 -
NA... It's my own house and my wife is given me crap! This is just a big.
I TOLD YOU SO!0 -
Sorry Jim...
But this was probably one of the funniest posts I've seen here in quite some time. My ribs hurt! ;-)0 -
Hey Jim
Nothing wrong with two smaller units spaced apart.
Might get you off the couch also.

You have hundreds of satisfied customers.
Your wife doesn't trust you to do your own house?

And the next thing heard is....
"There is the couch. Enjoy."0 -
The first
time she said that to me would be the last.
No sir, no couch for this man of the house. I'd go out and buy one of those futon thingamagigs.
Yeah, that's the ticket.0 -
Now THAT is putting your foot down, Jack.
Show HER who runs the house. Right dear?0 -
Just trying
to give Jamie some guidance, Brad.
That's all, just helping my brother wethead.0
