I am installing a warm floor with Wirsbo joist track, driven by a 6 gal electric WH. Tekmar controller. Just the kitchen & bath. Small house. Does one just stuff the joists with standard paper backed insulation, or would foil backed with the foil up do better? BTW, should I use one loop, or would a 3/4 manifold split into 2 equal loops work? Grundfos 3-speed driving it.

loops
Well, if you dont have any design work done, here what I would tell you:
At least one loop for each room. However, no more than 300 feet of tubing per loop.
Is it 1/2 or 3/8 tubing?
If the bath is 8x4 or so, one loop should do it. If the kitchen is big, you'll need to figure more than one loop.
Use the fiberglass insulation right up to the aluminum joist trak.

No heatloss...this is just for comfort. House has a furnace. Bath is 8x10, and kitchen is 12x15 or so, with an island of cabinets extending into it. 1/2" hpex. Joist spacing is odd. May be able to get two tracs into one space. Floor is original fir t&g subfloor, and will get 1/2" backer and tile.
Thanks, Tim
