Buderus on Ebay

As a Wholesaler we will take back any incorrectly ordered boiler as long as it's not been un-crated. This is very shady indeed.
Why not get full price on your return instead of risking an auction? Gee, let's think.... Oh, he never paid for it in the first place. This looks like a "Inside Job"

How does this happen?
http://cgi.ebay.com/BUDERUS-G-215-4-OIL-FIRED-BOILER_W0QQitemZ6049915847QQcategoryZ41987QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Is this someone who works for a wholesaler who's angry? How could someone come up with this with all the bells and whistles? If they are stealing they are losers...

How do you know it's not
a contractor, off loading something he ordered. I was offered a Buderus at a home show by a local distributor who was displaying the boiler. He was willing to give it to me at wholesaler prices and drop it off at my house. Then I get my own contractor to put in. So a distibutor can be faulted also.0 -
I doubt
It is a contractor. Whoever is offering is also offering a vertical or horizontal tank by choice. What are the chances a contractor has both available ? Sounds shady...0 -
Furthermore
If you check this persons past sales history, he has sold Weil Mclain, Peerless, and Weather King equipment. It definately doesn't appear to be a contractor, especially at the prices he got for the equipment.0 -
that's nothing rick they sell the gb142 on eBay also for $3100.00 dangerous thing to sell but people do it.
thanks

I have seen on E Bay
I have seen all kinds of Oil heat related parts advertised still in the box. It could be stolen, a less than professional wholesaler (like those selling to HD), a would be contractor who stocked up and now is going under. It could be a number of reasons. Personally I only buy from recognized business's or in the case of something used from someone I know. In the case of new what about Warranty issues.

Bud allow me to digress...
How do WE discuss this without 5000+ people? I was looking for input from true Professionals because this shocked me to see a Buderus product being auctioned off to the highest bidder.
Purpose? As a Buderus Distributor who has seen people selling things out the back door. This disturbs me greatly. I work real hard to take care of my 5 children and I do it with integrity.
So, YES I am very concerned when people allegedly "steal and sell" People who steal are probably the lowest life form just behind pond scum and amoeba...
My 2 cents,

Can't fight it
There will always be consumers who only care about the lowest price. The Internet is a perfect place for them. But you have to ask yourself: are these the people you really want for customers anyway? They'll nitpick you to death over a few dollars, want the installation done yesterday, and don't want to hear about upgrades or improvements to the system you are selling. The best customers are YOUR best customers. Keep them and cultivate them. They will spread the word about your fine service while the Internet buyers could really gave a pitoot about good service. Just ask the many homeowners who populate The Wall. I'm willing to bet that most of them prefer service over price.
And keep that in mind if you are a distributor. Your best customers are the dealers that ignore these price shoppers.0 -
Ya'all better be nice...
It might be your local RPA board member. It sounds a guy I know in Nebraska. Used to drive my wholesaler nuts. Kevin0
