Just needed somewhere to vent! There are no worse words to hear to hear from your spouse at the end of a hard day than " You wouldn't believe how much I saved at the sale I was at today " It certainly does not help matters when you ask if you can have some of that cash cause your a little short yourself!! Just had to walk away from that one..

That all depends

Since the savings are generally seen as a fraction of the total used, when you have greater heat loss you save more by increasing efficiency. Increasing the combustion efficiency by 10% is much better than decreasing the heat loss by 10%. So in a retrofit application, if the choice is between new windows or a new boiler, the new boiler may have a much better ROI than the windows. My units are a little messy in the calculations.
