one of the ladds has a ultra sonic leak detector that reads leaks under a slab....Try Find a pro you just might get Lucky *~/:)
i have one that sends ultra sonic "Vibrations" (tone generator) it can detect leaks above ground ,in walls, ducts, pipes etc, i am contemplating aquiring the one for under ground inspection....it is a little bit spendy....

Furnance / Pipe Leak
We have an old furnance and we know that the floater needs to be replaced. It cuts off at times thinking that there is no water, when there is. We tap the box where the floater is in and it kicks right on.
The BIG problem is ... that within 10 min of the furnance going on the water is gone. WHERE IS IT GOING!??! or maybe not going We do NOT have an automatic feed, but will be installing one.
We had a tech came out and he filled the water above the line and turned the boiler off. The furnance kicked right on, he turned it off. As we stood there talking and him inspecting the unit, within 20 min the water level was 1/2 way down. he said that since its leaking without being on, that it's a leak in a pipe. Since we don't see any water, he said that the leak is underground. Our basement is finished (no pipes showing) so basically it has to be ripped to see where the pipes are etc. We've been keeping the boiler off instead of keep filling it up every 10 min or so. and now it's starting to smell like mildew. So I do beleive that there is a leak that we don't see
PS any recommendations for a contractor / plumber?0 -

It sure sounds like "something" is leaking.
Why not look to the toolbar on the left and click on "Find a Professional" and simply enter your zip code.
A finished basement could pose a problem if the leak is hidden within a wall or below a floor.
More than likely it is a leak below the floor (or water-line). If possible, try and isolate it were the return enters the floor and returns back up near the "boiler".
Good Luck!

Hard to recommend anyone if we don't know where you are.
