Caloric Pipeless Furnace Poster

was essentially a standard gravity hot-air unit placed under a huge grate, usually in a center hallway of a house. The idea was that heat would distribute thru the doors into the various rooms from the hall. Its main advantage was low cost. In practice, it was better than no heat at all..... this is why many of these and other types of old hot-air systems were replaced with hot-water or steam.

Our friend Bud Goodman is a hot-air historian- check out his site: www.thesheetmetalshop.com . I'll bet he has something on this old company. The Caloric brand is still used on kitchen stoves and other appliances.

    Caloric Pipeless Furnace Poster

Would anyone have information about the "Caloric Pipeless Furnace"? A friend has a poster measuring 61 X 21 with a winter night scene of a house (two chimneys, wrap around porch). The text reads, "At last, furnace heat for every home." "Original patented pipeless furnace."

I can't seem to find any info via Google/I-Net about the company.

    Thanks
