    Here you go:

    Mall of America

You could be born, live your whole life, and die in this place.
    Retired and loving it.

    Best restaurant...

...hands down is the Twin City Grill. First floor, North Broadway entrance. Try the Duck Ravioli. There's a place called The All American Sports Bar on the 4th floor -- but it's more dance club than sports bar. For sheer fun, go to the Silicon Motor Speedway on the 3rd floor---full motion NASCAR simulators. Many a Wirsbo trainee has traded paint there!

    Thanks

The first thing I did was visit the web site prior to posting this. I would prefer a local's opinion of the best food. Sometimes an ad makes the place sound too good to be true.

But thanks for the assist, Dan.

Well, we like to fly the air combat simulators at ACES , shoot down our opponents, and then swagger down the hall to Tucci Benuchi to laugh about how many times we augered in. Four of us spent an hour at it and the kid at the "control tower" , who answers flight questions like"Where the hell am I?", had fun just listening to us. "Turn to port , Red One", they're all behind you and THAT is why you are taking hits."

    Local Opinion

I you are willing to take the brand new $1 billion Jesse Ventura Legacy train from the mall to downtown Minneapolis you will get much more of a feel of this city. The ride will be cheap and entertaining. Lots and Lots of places to eat and drink. It all depends on what you are after. If you want to hang out at the mall that is fine too, but you won't get much of the Minneapolis experience.

    it's funny

I live here, but youse guys sound like you know MOA better than I do. Course I never go there unless I have a service call there, and it takes a good half hour just to get past security and then we are supposed to stay in the service corridors, man what a maze. Nice place to visit but I wouldn't want to live there. I can't give you guys a recommendation on eating there, but if you get the chance, go to a little place called MATT'S. It is on the corner of 35th and Cedar in south Mpls, not really that far. Just a little corner bar with great beer (and I don't drink) and the best burgers anywhere, especially their Jucy Lucy. A note, NO smoking in any resturant or bar in St Paul, MPLS or Bloomington, unless it is an outside patio

You should also of course visit the Twin Cities them selves.
Catch a game at the Metro Dome if the Twins are in town.
The people are so friendly as to scare a NYer.

The whole place is relaxed you can walk right up to the state capital, have lunch on the steps, enjoy the view and not have to worry about being tackeld by security.

    Tony Romas

If you would like great ribs, Tony Romas is right next door to the NASCAR Silicon Valley simulator, both make for a fun time. I do believe I could not only trade paint with John Barba but also leave him wondering how I passed him so many times..John?

Well Larry ,The BBQ Ribs were my request on my top 10

List while in the twin cities. The smiles of the Habby Wirsbo clan and the company of contractors far from home made the BBQ rib run one of my favorites *~/:)

John, my dear and deluded friend

Yes John, I certainly can understand your need to "puff" the chest on a public forum such as the Wall considering your "guru" status, but sadly, you are unaware of my considerable abilities at the "track". Obviously we will need to settle this during a long lunch break next time I'm in the cities. It will be for the bragging rights of "Greatest Radiant Driver" in the world, which I will have a trophy made to honor this feat. The challange is on.

By the way, much love back and, you are still the "Greatest" trainer in the world by far.

    Twin City Grill

I had the Walleye there tonight -- just so-so. Tomorrow night is Yankees-Twins at the Big Baggie. I've never been there and look forward to seeing the game. Hope some Wallies (not Walleyes) can join me.

    Give this place a try...

Shelly's, just off I-394 near Highway 100 (I seem to recall). "Northwest" cooking and decor - very cozy. Great selection of local brews on tap, amazing popovers, interesting soups. I had a nice ribeye there, and there were fish selections, but the duck had a weird sauce, though. Went back the next night without even considering what other places were around. Have fun!
