    This just in!

Meg just sent these photos. This is the whole school. The soccer team will soon have matching uniforms, Thanks to Patrick O'Neill.

And that's Meg with her Costa Rican sister, Giselle.

    Thanks for helping these kids.

    A slight correction....

thanks to YOU Dan....I was merely a conduit if you will.

"While the pipe is important, 'tis the fluid inside that really matters..." I just made that up, but it's pretty appropriate for this site, eh? :-)

You are the "water", Dan. And thanks also for the very generous donation to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.

Helping people and the most popular sport in the world...what a cool combination.

    Take care, PJO

    I find it amazing

how somethings are just universal. Look at the picture of the soccer team. Notice the 2 boys who are "horning" the boys in front? I have done this my whole life! Too Funny!!!!

    Meg called yesterday

to tell me that two big packages arrived from Bill @ Honeywell. She and a friend had to take the bus two hours into town to pick them up. The packages contained all sorts of school supplies. When she got back to her village all the people came to her house to look at the paper. Meg said that they were incredibly excited, jumping up and down and laughing in glee. Over paper. Imagine that.

The things we take for granted.

She also told me that the three teachers cried when she told them that the Wallies were buying a new fridge for the school.

    Thanks for helping these people.

    Glad they got there safe...

Sorry you had to take a 2 hour bus ride, but I think you will find the stuff useful. Construction paper was in short supply, but maybe someone else can find some for you & these kids. 30-odd years on, I've never forgotten those Vietnamese kids we brought medical aid & some small comfort items. Most had never tasted candy before. Most Amercians just don't realize how good we have it!
