Anybody having problems with Burnham Series 8b push nipples?

Boiler is 4 years old. I can see white lime deposits at the lower push nipple seam, inside the firebox at the rear. Leaks greater as it heats up. Pulled rear inlet 2in piping, no sign of any lime buildup. It looks like the nipples have been weeping, causing the collecting of lime.

Is there any issue with Burnham's push nipples?

The cast sections came as a complete block, assembled by Burnham. We put on the outer jacket, etc.

    Bill,

If the nipples are leaking there is usually a reason for it and it could be any number of things, most of which are related to the system itself. What you need to do is get in touch with the area representative either direct or through your distributor. The next step is going to involve a jobsite visit for an evaluative study of the type of piping system, control strategy, supply and return temperatures and water quality. The purpose of this study is to get to the root of the problem so that it will not happen again. If you wish, contact me with your company info and how to reach you via e-mail and I will put you in touch with the proper person. I will be away all day Wednesday at the NEFI Convention in Boston, as I was all day today, but will check my e-mail when I return tomorrow night.
