Dan - Thanks for the great job in Pittsburgh. It was good to finally meet you and the lovely Marianne!

Here is a photo of the piping near the receiver.

The horizontal line along the wall has the condensate from the 42 story building. Periodically there is a cross fitting, and from the top comes an inverted trap, and from the bottom comes the condensate down to a tee. The run of the tee goes to a normally closed manual valve that will waste the condensate in an emergency or blow down the line for maint. The branch of the tee turns horizontal, runs for a bit, turns back and down and into the tank at about the 10:00 position, with the inverted trap tied into the butt of the last elbow.

ANY ideas? Anyone?

Why the inverted trap?
Why so many connections from the same headder to the same tank?
As I said, I believe this used to be a vacuum system, but I am not sure. It is not now - this tank is vented to the room.

Thanks.

Jim.

P.S. Kevin, the fellow who was with me at the seminar yesterday, grabbed the Lost Art book at lunchtime. It is now 2:00....
