Have you tried the unsplit armaflex and rubatex contact cement ? the presplit armaflex seems to be made differently and doesnt take glue or contact cement well even in low temp applications.

    Pipe insulation

    Hi Guys..

We use armaflex type insulation for our hot water system and it works fine except that the glue that comes with the split insulation can't handle the temps. Our mitered joints also can't be glued with anything that can handle the temps. Our local supply houses don't know of anythig except rubber cement and it doesn't work either. We have a call into armaflex now but no response yet.

Fiberglass insulation is a possibility but
    1. Put it on with dirty hands or let another trade make it dirty and it looks like S___.
    2. Cost for the install is much more.

    Any ideas?

    :-) Ken

    I like this Techlite product

it's a melamine type insulation. Available in a number of different jacket styles. I like the glossy PVC jacket.

They don't seem to mind filling small orders.

It should be required on all Viessmann jobs :)
