Pneumatic Thermostat System

Member Posts: 1
We have a pretty large steam boiler in the building we recently purchased. It has a pneumatic thermostat system that I'm trying to figure out. Is there some sort of primer out there that I can read to get a feel for how the thermostat system works?
Thanks in advance,

pneumatics can be pretty easy to work on. the best way to find out what you have is to get the thermostat number off the thermostat. on honeywell stats the number is usually on a tag on the rear of the stat. on jci stuff its usually printed in small letters. this will tell you whether you have direct or reverse acting stats. then you can download literature on those to get calibration procedures from the manufacturers sites.0 -

Look at WW Granager they used to have a book on pneumatics in there catalog. Johnson control and honeywell both have information that can help. If you do not have a gage and a needle thats the 1st step, with the gage you find your set point and go from there. Best Wishes J.Lockard0
