Does anybody have some design information regarding derating boiler output and heat exchanger output when using glycol in hydronic heating systems.

Glycol
How much glycol or what temp. do you want to protect to?0 -
Ethylene or propylene? should be prop. typical concentrations range around 40% for protection unless you are in a really cold climate. to calculate you need to know concentration, then charge specific gravity versus water. your pump horsepower will go up due to more dense fluid, as well as heat transfer going down. typical results at roughly fifteen percent more or less.0 -
if you go to the raypak boiler web site and go to tech information, yhey have all kinds of information on glycol and its effect on heating systems.

Thanks for the help. The Raypak website, tech help, was useful. Thanks again.
