Most of the efficiency loss would be do to scaling on the water side of the boiler. This can cause 15-30% loss of heat transfer. Properly cleaned and tuned it could be brought up close to the efficiency of like boilers today.

I have a 30 year old cast iron Weil McLain boiler is good condition. How efficient would the boiler be now compared to what it was when it was new?

Depends on the maint of it and the make up air the stack
and the parts on the burner. 30 years back the interrupted ignition wasn't standard fare ,and higher pump pressures were used by only a few....0
