Bill and Alex's excellent drop header, continued...

Options
Thanks to all of you who responded to the <A href="http://tinyurl.com/nzyys">previous post</A> on my new drop header. <small>(<A href="http://tinyurl.com/nzyys">Bill and Alex's excellent header</A></small>)

I was able to locate a 3" * 2" eccentric reducer. It is a beautiful fitting (my wife was much amused by my cooing!), nicely cast, with polished end surfaces, good sharp threads and all the casting detritus ground off. It was a thing of beauty... And it had better be as it was $45!

Here it is, installed...

I still have a lot to do, electric, water feed, fuel, controls and safety and venting.

Once that's done, I'll clean up the header and paint it black, a final touch that Mad Dog taught me...

On Wednesday I have a chimney sweep coming to check out the chimney and hopefully there will be no more toasted fowl. Should I have them put a cap on the chimney or is that a no-no?

With any luck, and Steamhead's help, I'll fire it up on Saturday. After a good cleaning, we'll settle back with a 6-pack of Cokes and enjoy the best heat you can sacrifice prehistoric crustaceans for...

Thanks again!
