pex tubing for air application

I have to get an air line thru a poured floor on metal, most of the run is in 1/2" copper. It is for a dentist office. It would be alot easier to run some pex up and around to the work site. working pressure will be 120psi. and I see pex rated to 160. Any one done this? Thanks

pex for air
Never did it but assume it would work...but you know what happens when you assume. I would contact you PEX manufacturer of choice and get it in writing that it is suitable for that application. You will own it if you don't and it fail under that concrete.
Maybe using PEX as a sleeve for something else may be a better idea.

I think Ipex/ Kitec
has some tube approved for compressed air applications. Make sure the tube you use is listed for compressed air applications. I doubt regular pex has the correct listings.

Rehau
is about to go into CA with it's PEX. Call them about it. They already do about everything else with it, including medical gas stuff, sprinkler, water service, radiant, and water.
I plan to install some in my new garage for CA. Yes, it will work. (Burst pressure is something like 775#) And use Everlock fittings not crimp!0
