How does the gas company test for co

in the house, tryed to sell one of mine but H.O. is counting Penney's.

I was hopping the gas co would back me up they have in the past but no luck.

Between me and the gas co. The H.O. accepts them over me so I will just have to watch the news.

I did send a registered letter stating my concerns of broken terracotta liner blocking clean out door, lack of spill switch on draft regulator and poor flame.

Now all on deaf ears thanks to Keyspan.

How does the gas company test for co

Went on a pre season boiler check up yesterday, steam boiler did all the control checks and vacuumed out the boiler.

It was an old Weil Mclain oil boiler max 1.25 gal but had been set up for 1 gal, now with a three year old Carlin G3B.

But no spill switch on the draft regulator and I also found a piece of terracotta blocking the clean-out door below but otherwise the I saw daylight up the chimny and the draft was good 3" wc

I found the air shutter nut loos so questioned the flame.

Put my analizer in and it pegged. I called Carlin tech and we clocked the meter, adjusted 02 but the flame was hitting the target wall and impinging so I could not lower the co.

    I shut the boiler down.

H.O. Called the gas company Keyspan, they started the boiler up said the flame was not that bad and that there was "no" co as in zero. The H.O. did not see how they checked I find it hard to believe that my TSI 6130 locked out on high co but Keyspan found none.

Do they only look at ambient. Based on the lack of spill switches and broken terracotta I thought the boiler should have been red tagged.

    Mitch,

Sounds like you need to call the gas company and explain this situation to them. Maybe the gas technician is getting sloppy or is uninformed.
